We left our hearts in San Francisco!
(sorry couldn't resist)
First thing this morning we headed down to Pier 39. We wanted
breakfast, shopping and sights. We got them all. Breakfast were
these "mondo" burritos. (yes for breakfast) We took in the sights
and sounds of the sea lions that hang out at the pier. The noise
is wild. Just hanging out in the morning sun barking away.. We
got a box of chocolates at the Chocolate Shop and saw Forrest
Gump at Bubba Gumps.
After the pier, we headed over to the cable cars to take
a ride downtown. We managed to get an outside seat and we were
in for a great ride. Our driver was banging out some pretty rappy
tunes on the cable car bell. Once we got downtown, we headed up
the street (and I do mean UP) to Union Square. Tryed to catch
the cable care back to the pier but they were all full so ended
up walking back to the hotel and the car to leave. At least only
half the walk was uphill. What good exercise we are getting.
Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge was a kick. It is and awesome
sight.
We drove on some VERY NARROW and Curvy roads this afternoon.
I know I have said that before but these were prolly the scariest
so far. But we made it to Fort Bragg. (not Fort Ord :) safe and
sound.
